John Young is known for his sense of people and what makes consumers click. An intuitive and perceptive thinker he draws on over 30 years of experience and research in marketing.
John’s boundless enthusiasm for his topic is an experience unto itself; It’s contagious and gets his audience excited, laughing and scribbling as fast as they can. John’s information is clear, concise and practical as well as entertaining, and leaves audiences consistently asking for more. He cut his teeth running multi-divisional newspaper chains for Canada’s largest publishing company, Southam Inc.
His creative bent has been
the cornerstone of this diverse career.
John’s early successes as a crack advertising and marketing manager rocketed him to group publisher for Southam. From the early 80’s to the mid 90’s John looked for every opportunity to improve on customer experiences and grew revenues by providing for the unmet needs of his customers.
In the mid 90’s he formed JCY associates, a business and marketing consultancy focusing primarily on creating remarkable customer experiences as well as marketing strategies and advertising ideas for his clients.
His passion for business and speaking helped form the backbone of the Genesis programs at Niagara College.
His entertaining seminars on finding the unmet needs and differentiating from the competition consistently drew maximum ratings.
For 8 years, John facilitated monthly panels and taught marketing courses addressing the needs of new entrepreneurs through challenging and enlivened sessions .
As a Certified Business Counselor under APEC he has provided consulting to over 300 successful organizations, both industry leaders, up-and-coming powerhouses and entrepreneurs, from a wide range of industries.
While JCY associates continues serving marketing clients, John has, since the millennium moved toward sharing his authority and passion for his topic. Through customized keynotes, seminars, and workshops he dares his audiences to choreograph ultimate customer experiences therein creating choirs of brand advocates and evangelists.
His articles are regularly featured in business publications and e-zines and his sales and advertising webinars are consistently attended from coast to coast.
